Book Description:
Assassin. Soldier. Arrow. That is who Vasic is, who he will always be. His soul drenched in blood, his conscience heavy with the weight of all he’s done, he exists in the shadows, far from the hope his people can almost touch—if only they do not first drown in the murderous insanity of a lethal contagion. To stop the wave of death, Vasic must complete the simplest and most difficult mission of his life.

For if the Psy race is to survive, the empaths must wake…

Having rebuilt her life after medical “treatment” that violated her mind and sought to stifle her abilities, Ivy should have run from the black-clad Arrow with eyes of winter frost. But Ivy Jane has never done what she should. Now, she'll fight for her people, and for this Arrow who stands as her living shield, yet believes he is beyond redemption. But as the world turns to screaming crimson, even Ivy’s fierce will may not be enough to save Vasic from the cold darkness…

My Thoughts About the Book:
I love Singh's Psy-Changeling series. It is a combination of Supernatural and Fantasy and the thing I love the most is no matter how many stories she tells the relationships in these stories feel rather balanced. The men are men and the women are strong women. There is no weaker person. They both have a weakness and they compliment each other.

This is no truer than with Vasic and Ivy. Vasic is an Psy Arrow which means he was trained to kill Psy who break Silence... only now everyone is breaking Silence because it is killing the Psy. What is an Arrow to do... get new orders.

Vasic is on borrowed time and his friend Aden is worried Vasic will simply give up the fight against the darkness of their pasts. Aden wants happiness for Vasic. After watching Kaleb, the most fear and believed Silent Psy of them all, found love; Aden felt hope for himself and his fellow Arrows.

So Vasic is tasked with protecting Ivy who is an E Psy meaning she is empathic and intune with emotion. The Es have been known to heal those with so much darkness and within days of being around Ivy, Vasic is different. He's seeking out Ivy because she is everything his soul craves... light.

These two balance each other, protect each other and take care of each other. They had a sweet love story in the midst of the very fabric of Psy life crumbling around them.

Not only is this a love story but it moves along the idea of Silence (emotionlessness) breaking and the Psy's having to start feeling again.

Really well done.
