Answer for question 4278.
What is your opinion of religion? Is the world a better or worse place because of it?
Hell it depends, I guess. I believe that believing in God and what he teaches IS an asset because even at the lowest points of your life you always have God in your corner ready to carry you should you need it.

But I also believe you can't pick and choose what you will take from God. What HE says goes.

But, at times, people take religion and morph it into something to harm others it horrible ways.

Sometimes people believe just because a religion is against something it signifies hate. People should take a closer look at religions because some may have originally had extreme moments which were amended. And in some cases religions say they preach one thing and practice something far darker.

Actions speak loader than word when it comes to religion. If you claim a belief and set out to harm others then there is something wrong. But honesty about your beliefs and then respect for those who do not share them is a sign that something is right.

I grew up in Ohio and attended the Methodist church with my family until I went off to college. There I sang in the choir of another Protestant church every Sunday during the school year. I wouldn't say I was ever religious; it was just something that was expected of me and a family thing.

Then I moved to NYC after college and was surrounded by people of many different religious beliefs. ALL of them considered THEIR religion to be the "right" one. That totally turned me off for religion of any kind.

I've learned about many religions over the years but for me Christianity is it. And I'm pretty serious about it. I love my religion.

Not religious. Not even a little bit. More or less an athiest. And those christians. And muslims. And jews. And whatever else religion you have. Should read their books again, because they miss the big point. It's all about love. Nothing else. End off.

So yeah. Read the books. Got that it's all love in there. Look around. And say fuck it all and won't even touch religion with as stick.

It's fine if anyone else is into it. But just like a dick, don't shove it in my face. ;-)
