Earthquake hits Napa, California

Where I live we didn't feel it at all but in the past I would never have thought of a 6.1 as being a strong earthquake but I guess I'm desensitized as I've been in stronger. Still Napa has had several gas line breaks and many fires which is definitely not what California needs as the water levels continue to drop.

My thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the earthquake and I hope anyone reading this will pray for those affected.

Yikes! How terrible. As you said, California really can't afford losing water to water main breaks and firefighting. Thankfully there were no deaths.

Yes, I also heard about the water line breaks. We so don't need that.

So far so good but then some of these injured are critical so we need to keep them in our thoughts and prayers.

Relieved to hear you weren't effected by the quake *hugs*

Thanks. Fires up here would be really bad as we are mostly brush. Of course, Napa is a lot of vineyards so that can be bad too but they probably have decent irrigation.

Unfortunately there has been a lot of water loss because of water mains breaking. So terrible. I really hope this El Nino thing coming this fall brings a lot of rain.

Yes, I can imagine. With such dry conditions things can go up like a tinder box.

Hope you get the rain you need!

That is so scary! The worst (and only) EQ we had here, that I remember, knocked over a candle that was already on an edge. :s

I think you can't imagine something like that if you don't experience it for yourself. Same with the fires.

I'm so glad you're okay though *hugs*

It is true. I don't mind the earthquakes as long as they aren't destructive. This one was but then we've started to discover the water lines are old and need replacing in CA.
