Book Description:
Caragh Ó Brannon defended herself bravely when the enemy landed—only, now she finds herself alone with one very angry Viking…

Styr Hardrata sailed to Ireland intending to trade, never expecting to find himself held captive in chains by a beautiful Irish maiden.

The fiercely handsome warrior both terrifies and allures Caragh, but he is forbidden territory. He is the enemy…and he is married. Yet Styr harbors a secret that just might set them both free…

My Thoughts on the Book
Caragh is starving in her small village when Styr, his wife and his men come to town hoping to settle. They are Norse so Caragh's Irish village thinks they are being attacked. Things go horribly wrong. Caragh's brother abducts Styr's wife and Caragh knocks out Styr to protect her brother and ends up with a prisoner.

How do they go from prisoner and jailer to falling in love? So Caragh is starving and she isn't really good at fishing or hunting. Styr can't bear to watch her starving so offers to help her out which he does. The attraction between them grows and she ends up going with him to find his wife hoping to prevent him from killing her brother.

Normally, I would have stopped reading when I realized he had a wife but right from the beginning you discover that Elena and Styr don't want to be together. They are making each other miserable and in their culture they only have to announce their divorce to others.

During the search for his wife Styr is trying to be faithful though he's falling for Caragh and knows that his relationship with Elena isn't working.

It is all really complicated as they say. The things is the natural attraction between Caragh and Styr was a little lacking for me. Just seemed like there wasn't a lot of evidence to the attraction, just the author telling us it was there.
