Self Defense For Women (Please watch)

Okay I'm going to have to ask him if people at Walmart were looking at him strangely but this is a friend of the family who is teaching my niece martial arts. I know him and he's a good man. He's got like 10 kids too and one is an 18 year old woman. The younger guy in this video is his son. This is the guy that, with his wife, went to Poland to adopt those three siblings so they wouldn't be separated.

I love that he worries about woman being hurt. I love that he likes to do something to teach woman how they can protect themselves or even just get away.

And he's right. I read a book last year on the sex trade. It was so sad and very scary. It is so real and it can happen to anyone. People like to ignore it but it is a growing business. So for all the woman out there both friends and unknown... watch this (or more of his stuff on YouTube). Consider a self-defense class or watching techniques online. Learn more about protecting yourself and teach your daughters.

Also: He posted this on Facebook and then replied that he had a young woman tell him she'd overheard his explanations of self-defense, much like this, and used it when a man tried to attack and rape her two weeks after hearing him. She got away and the man was arrested by police.

No problem. I tend to be a worrier. I worry about the people I care about. Knowing certain people go running or end up going a lot of places by themselves; I think about these things.

Probably because my older sister was kidnapped when we were younger. She was involved with gangs and it was a rival gang to her boyfriend's but it is still scary.

You hear about these horrible things so often and I remember a white van who would abduct girls when I lived in the LA area, as a kid. I guess growing up with all of these things make me think about these things more often.

I can't say I could protect myself but I am observant and I tend to watch my friends videos.

That IS scary. Gangs are scary. I'm glad there was never any opportunity to get into one when I was young, nor does there seem to be much gang activity around here. *knocks on wood* So far my kids are hanging out with good kids. I hope that continues!

Yeah, I never was approach or wanted anything to do with gangs. I went through an anti-gang program when I was in school and I remember other kids thinking it funny but at the time my sister was missing and I remember thinking that it clearly wasn't funny.

LA area is bad with gangs. A lot of cities in CA have gang activity. Big cities though. There isn't much like that around here.

I hope that remains true there too. I think there is a crucial age that the gangs have to get you at... usually highschool. That is when it all went down with my older sister.
