Don’t cheat. Do you know how many countries there are in the world?

First, you can't ask a question like that and not expect me to look it up. My initial reaction was around 200. That seems like a plausible answer without being over the top. As it is, I'm very close though the question is apparently a complicated one.

I won't tell you the real answer though I might just comment with it.

For some reason I've always thought the answer was 200. Maybe it is remnants of school information, most of which has been forgotten.

Must be...I just checked and apparently there are 193 member countries of the United Nations.

I read that. Apparently there are some like 3 I think that aren't part of the UN... I know Vatican City is one of those countries but I don't remember the others.
