LJ Responds to Backlash with a poll
Someone who works for LJ responded to the backlash only it's buried under a lot of comments.  Interesting.

Quoting, for your convenience:
We are in the process of compiling your thousands of comments so we can provide detailed feedback in order to implement necessary changes. This has been keeping us very busy (and quiet). We understand and appreciate your wish for privacy. Most of us would not want our LiveJournal usernames, FO comments, etc., published on Facebook or Twitter either (to the extent we even use them). We hear you. We are doing our very best to respond.

In the meantime, we would love for you to vote on this poll posted by surrey_sucks.

Thank you, again, for taking the time to give us honest feedback.
Really need to go and vote though it is quite obvious those who have voted have kind of made it clear they hate the idea. Here's hoping LJ pays attention and maybe asks us before doing, in the future.

Voted! Yeah, really no surprise there! People hate it, it needs to go.

At least they are listening. Whether they action the desires of the LJ populace is to be seen.

Oh... I had completely missed this, thanks for linkage!

..I did notice the new stuff below journal post stuff when I did post recently. Making it an optional feature seems more logical.

It does. We as the journal owner should have the ability to turn it off completely.
