Bought one room air conditioner...
...have no idea how to install it. Instructions are for up & down window not side to side.

well, I'd think the principal would be about the same. Open the window enough to stick it in, and block up any remaining open space with a piece of wood or something. :) Have any pics?

Kind of. That is what I figured but because of the metal track the instructions online what you to build a frame for the air conditioner and I'm just not willing.

Oh man, that would be a pain.

Yeah. Oh well.

I use foam scraps to fill all the spaces around and I put a 2" x 2" long piece of wood under it so it sits on the wood and not on the edge of the window frame. I also found a piece of wood that I wedge up at the top so the window holding it down can't raise up for any reason.

Good luck!

Well, it is a side sliding window which is where the issue came in. I did find some instructions online but they want a whole frame build for it and I just don't want to do that plus it doesn't guarantee that the metal frame won't get damaged. I'm probably over thinking it but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Yeah, I'm taking it back to the store.
