What kind of friends are you???

I got a free movie code for Redbox. I went to rent a movie. The only thing that sounded even close to interesting was Dear John. Now, I ask. Why did no one tell me this movie was beyond worthless. I could have written a better story!

Anyways, I'm stepping up. DON'T SEE IT!

Aww, I watched it... this weekend I think... Granted, it was trying too hard to become a classic, but I kind of liked it overall. I have a brother-in-law in the army, and I've heard many similar stories where the girl can't cope with the guy being away, so that bit of the story where she leaves him really struck a chord with me. The ending reminds me a bit of Where The Rainbows End by Cecelia Ahern.

*raised eyebrow*

I assumed it would be a sappy love story. I wanted a sappy love story I could love but this was just too much which really stunk because I like Amanda (is that her name?).

Anyways, I did like the autism thing and the soldier story parts but overall to me it just wasn't worth it.

Yeah, I could see the Where the Rainbow Ends similarities... only I loved that story ALOT.

I won't ever put money on Sparks's "this is not romance" books, even movies based on his books, but I liked it somewhat. Yeah, the acting was awkward at times (I like Amanda Seyfried and Channing Tatum though, so it was a disappointment, for sure) but like you said, the autism and army bits, the bitterness and hopelessness, and then the bittersweet ending... I don't know, I actually didn't click the link (ahem) expecting to be amazed, but it was all right for me.

I can honestly say the only Sparks story that I loved was Notebook. It was just great.

To each there own, I guess. I personally never want to see it again but that is me.

*gasp* No, absolutely not. I don't like him and I don't think he can act.

Yeah. Me too. I don't know if I'm happy about the idea of a movie or not. I want to see it all but I don't want them to screw it up.

I was with the story until the end. She so did not ever deserve to get him back.

And him as Jamie? Definitely not. No No No. I'd have to see him in something else to say if he can act or not but he's definitely not right as Jamie.
Jill aka Josireesanwar on June 9th, 2010 12:30 am (UTC)
No, she really didn't.

No, definitely not. He couldn't pass for Jamie even if he tried. His mannerisms always seem the same and it wouldn't fit Jamie.

He was in some dance movie. That is the last thing I can think of. I don't follow his career.
