TV Meme Day 1: Should have never been canceled
I'm going to try this TV Meme thing. Hopefully I will remember to do this daily (skipping weekends). If not. I will either catch up or just continue the next day. I wasn't going to do it but after seeing everything you all have been posting... I couldn't stop myself.

I have two picks. Defying Gravity and Firefly.

For me it felt as though Defying Gravity never really had a chance. ABC moved it around and even put it in a time slot that would be occupied by Desperate Housewives within months of starting the series. There were so many breaks... you knew it was doomed, which is sad because it is one of the best shows I've seen in a long time. I mean it was thoughtful, character driven and exciting. Maybe it wasn't always exciting but it was always interesting and I think given half a chance it would have done well. And boy do I wonder what happened as of the last episode.

I know everyone is putting this but it is true. Firefly never should have been canceled. It is almost a badge of honor that you watched this show or even know what a Browncoat is let alone have a t-shirt you wear occasionally. Sure a Space Cowboy sounds strange but when they are fun, sarcastic and downright loveable Space Cowboys... it means it is great. There is just far too much we don't know about this series and where it could have gone. I really wish we could get some more.

You know I already totally agree about Firefly :D

And agree about DG too, was just getting interesting.

I think pretty much anyone who has seen Firefly agrees. ;-)

DG was really interesting. I mean where it left off was just horrible. You wonder what happened to Zoe, Rollie and everyone else on the show. You are left wondering about just about everyone's vision, what they meant and what they mean for the future.

I'd like to hope so.

Sucks when shows are cut off early like that.

Really is. This show clearly has more to come and then ABC went stupid. *grin*
Angelserenitysangel on June 3rd, 2010 11:54 pm (UTC)
Well most networks are stupid. ABC, CBS and FOX for example

So agree on Firefly!

Enjoyed Defying Gravity when I could catch it, but like you said it aired so erratically that I never remembered when it was on.

I'm still mourning that we never got to find out what happened on Caroline in the City and Legacy, both ended abruptly leaving us hanging. Annoying!

I'd forgotten about Caroline in the City. I do remember liking that show and wanting her and that guy together.

Yes, ABC really screwed up with Defying Gravity. It was like they didn't try.

Legacy was a western show back in '98 that was on the now defunct UPN. It was interesting and they just abruptly dropped it off the schedule leaving us hanging in a story arc.

I can honestly say that I don't think I've ever heard of that. It doesn't look familiar at all.
