Anyone use Proactiv?
I've been using it and I discovered that it is on Amazon.com for cheaper than going to a kiosk at times. Pretty cool.

See it here!

What is it? I've never heard of it.

It is a face wash system for those with really bad acne or skin issues. It is one of the cheapest out there but I feel it is the best because it is the only thing that keeps me from massive amounts of pimples.

Ew... I know.

Ah, I could use some of that. I normally get a little acne during PMS but for some reason my hormones are going nutso right now. *frowns* I know, tmi. :)

Yeah I love this stuff because it really clears up my skin. I switched out part of it before TX so now I have breakouts that are slowly disappearing because I didn't stick with the Proactiv. My fault. *naughty Jill*

I'll have to give it a go. I could use some help right about now.

You could try the little travel... it is half the size... I wish they had smaller versions. Like test sizes.

I know that when I first started... a little drying. It takes a little time for your skin to adjust. I think like a week. But I feel so clear.

I put sunscreen on to protect my face from the sun (I use Proactiv's stuff but you don't) because it says you should.

I hope you don't hate it after I've raved about it. *lol*

*hee* Well everything works differently for different people. I'm sure our skin is much different so you never know. I won't blame you though. :)

Well that is true. I was just so excited that you can get some of it for so cheap on Amazon. At times I go into the "New and Used" (it can't be used to sell it - they are always unopened) and get them even cheaper than some of the list prices which are usually cheaper themselves.

*loving amazon.com*

Ah I've heard of it, supposed to be quite good. Doesn't some actress/singer use it. Argh I forget her name...Jessica something?
Jill aka Jo: Movie: Ameliesireesanwar on February 10th, 2009 06:44 pm (UTC)
Jessica Simpson the singer uses it. As does the Dancing with the Stars Julianne Hough. There is actually quite a few famous people who use it and I was skeptical until my Best Friend practically shoved it at me. It really is the only thing that controls my acne/oily issues.
Angelserenitysangel on February 10th, 2009 10:34 pm (UTC)
Right that's the one, Jessica Simpson.
Glad you've found it works :)

Heard of it, but then again I don't automatically trust whatever my tv tells me. Now I can ask someone who uses it.

's it good?
Jill aka Jo: BSG: vipers in the skysireesanwar on February 10th, 2009 06:58 pm (UTC)
Me either which is why I didn't get it until my best friend practically shoved it at me. I didn't like how much it cost so I tried to get away from it and now I'm back at it fighting all the acne I got. It's the only thing that works for me.

And with it on Amazon and the "kiosk" people fighting to get your business sometimes something that is $20 is only $5. Talk about awesome.

I have a price list for my Kiosk at my mall, so I always compare with the added shipping and so far I've been getting a few things for cheaper. Plus there is the bonus that my mall is kind of far and this will just come right too me.

I thought about doing it direct from Proactiv but then they put you on a schedule instead of just letting you buy what you need when you need it.

*Breathing*
Alexstormsandsins on February 10th, 2009 07:01 pm (UTC)
wtf, schedule? Urgh.

I have so many products at this point that I feel I should finish them before I get anything else. So far Neutrogena's stuff is what works best.
Jill aka Jo: Fun: Nemo Whale Speaksireesanwar on February 10th, 2009 07:13 pm (UTC)
I know. It is a pain. I don't do it that way. Go to the kiosk or Amazon.

I had a ton of products too but none where helping me. My face was always red with sores from acne. It was so bad.

If Neutrogena is keeping your face clear then totally use it. My problem was that Neutrogena products really dried and irritated my skin.

I went through tons of stuff... even Doctor stuff... Proactiv just keep my skin clear and I feel clean whereas before I'd feel like a dirty grease pit within hours. I felt like I needed to clean my face all the time. But I stuck with 2 times... morning and night and it didn't help. Break outs everywhere.

I feel like I'm in a commercial. *lol*

My sister uses some cheap cleaner from Walmart. Her skin is perfect. I hate it.

Though you know...bad acne is a side effect of my other issue. *sigh*
Alexstormsandsins on February 10th, 2009 07:18 pm (UTC)
Oh it does dry but then I use their grease-free moisturiser and it helps.

My middle sister had really bad acne and had to resort to pills. Side effects aren't that great though so I'm not that eager to try it.

My other sister, though? Perfect (or almost) skin. Grr.

See the moisturizers tended to make things worse for me.

I won't do pills. I can stick to a facial regimen but I don't want to have to constantly remember pills. I'm so bad with my IBS pills it is annoying.

See something I learned with proactiv is never use a wash cloth on your face. I always did. It is just putting dirt back on your face.

Same with mine. A pain.
Alexstormsandsins on February 10th, 2009 07:54 pm (UTC)
Yickes, I never use a washcloth, it's horrrrrible!

Methinks I should probably take Alesse again. Had to take 'em after getting my appendix removed and it definitely helped both the cramps and the acne. Hmm.

I know. Didn't know that back then. I stopped but normal over the counter face wash still doesn't work for me.
turple_purtle: woohoo!-open seasonturple_purtle on February 10th, 2009 02:08 pm (UTC)

Me!

Thanks for the tip! I'll have to keep that in mind for when I've run out. I've been using it for about 2 years and I don't break out as much or can clear something up before it gets too bad; I have really oily skin, I hate it.
Jill aka Jo: Misc: Corksireesanwar on February 10th, 2009 07:03 pm (UTC)
Me too. For the most part. With it being cold my cheek area is kind of dry. I just bought some SPF Moisturizer. I don't know if it isn't working well or my skin is really really dry but I do like that it is SPF.

Anyways, me too. I was breaking out so bad before I started with the Proactiv. I go through the cleanser pretty fast and I think it is cheaper for me to go to the mall Kiosk but the toner... dang it is cheap on here.

I just got that SPF Lotion for half the price of the kiosk price. Love that. Plus I don't have to drive the 60 minutes to the mall.

I've been tempted to try their makeup but it is expensive... maybe if it were half price on Amazon. *wink*
