What you have no cell phone (mobile phone)???????
So apparently none of you have cell phones. *grimace* I'm wanting a new phone with:

Internet Access (able to see websites)
eBook reader capablities

Suggestions people. I have no idea what is out there and AT&T's sight is hard to look through. I have to use AT&T/Cingular cause that is all we can get here.

Well, if you have internet access, then the cell phone would be able to read some type of ebook, not .lit files, but maybe if they are in html format or .rtf or a .txt file...hmm....
You would want a big enough screen so you could have a better time reading it, so what about:
Palm® Treo(TM) 680
BlackJack(TM) II
Moto Q
they all have the ability to create and edit word documents, and they all have internet capabilities :D

I myself just have a virgin mobile cyclops, because I def. don't want to get hooked into contracts...

I will have to look into those. It doesn't have to have an lit reader but if I could put books on there in text or rtf or html then I would be happy. Also I want the screen to be capable of seeing say... lj because right now when my "phone" (it's crap) gets on its only txt. Definitly want to be able to read things easily.

I have no idea. The only thing that comes to mind is the iPhone (but as you said in your other post it's a lot of $$). Maybe a refurbished iPhone? I know Apple had refurbished ipods/video ipods, not sure about the iphone though being more recent.

Well I maybe should apologize to my friends cause I was being pushy but I know a couple of them out there know a thing of two about this subject. Granted not everyone which is fine. lovetruthbella pointed me in the right direction and if all else fails then I look for a refurbished iPhone. *hugs*

I wish I could help but considering the amount of freakin' technology in my household (4 computers, 14 iPods, 2 PSP's PS3, AppleTV ... ) I don't have a cellphone and know absolutely zip about them. I was hoping for an iPhone myself (instead of a iPod Touch) but no carriers will allow them here in Canada. Besides, they're extraordinarily expensive. They do allow you to do everything though, and if you get one (perhaps a refurbished one as carpenyx says) then you could visit my hubby's website and buy iSpeakIt which allows you to change visual text into words so you can listen to things read to you (ie email, webpages ... ) while you're driving, etc.

Sorry I can't be more help. I wish I could - I'd like a cell phone myself!

It's okay. I've got several to look into. If I get one them I will probably get the iSpeakIt but I can't guarentee anything.

Yes, you have a lot of technology in your house.

That we do! Too much I think. :)

Good luck in your search. I hope you find just what you want!

Thanks. Me too.

I have a razr with tmobile. I like the ability to talk to 5 people unlimitedly but I don't have the extra web capabilities package. tmobile seems like a decent company but every little thing is extra beside the Fav 5 plan. I used to have Verizon Wireless and I HATE them, they are the worst customer service in the world. iphones look very cool and can do so much but you do have to go with at&t with them. Sorry I'm really not much help. :)

Thanks anyway. At least I've gotten some responses this time around. I know there is someone out there with the phone I want... I remember a post about it and I was all jealous... hmmmmm.....

I have AT&T/Cingular and I really wanted to get an iPhone because I'm due for an upgrade this month...but I heard that they're redoing some of the features and the network that the iPhones operate on and they won't be doing a software upgrade for existing iPhone customers. I haven't heard many complaints, but I've learned from working for cell companies that, when they mess with the networks, the old programs/phones never work well at all.

I'd like something that I can access the internet on, too...my brother and Ryan have Blackjacks and they really like them. I know the Blackberrys are pretty popular as well.

My other brother has a Helio and I'm insanely jealous...but he spent as much on his Ocean as I would on an iPhone and he pays as much per month for his one phone as I do for mine and Lindsay's phones!

I think there's an LG that AT&T has right now that's fairly similar to the iPhone...I can't remember the model name, but I was looking at it while I was at the mall kiosk a couple weeks ago. I'm not sure what kind of internet access and document programs it has, but I'm definitely going to look into it.

k gonna have to start researching these and drop by the AT&T store and see about the LG because I know those are pretty good and not highly expensive so maybe.
