SAN FRANCISCO (AP) ― A 4-month-old boy who was rushed to the hospital Monday evening after being found in a car at BART's El Cerrito Plaza station has died, according to authorities.
The infant's mother found him around 5:35 p.m. in a silver Chrysler at the station and called 911, BART spokesman Linton Johnson said.
It appears as though the child had been in the car most of the day, Johnson said.
He said investigators have learned the boy's father typically drops him off at a babysitter's or some type of nursery in the morning and then goes to the station to take a train.
When the infant's mother discovered her child wasn't where he was supposed to be, she went to the station and found the boy, Johnson said.
The boy was taken to the hospital by the El Cerrito Fire Department and later died.
The news report said she went to the daycare to pick him up and was told her son hadn't been there all day. She rushed to the Bart station and found him in her husbands car. Apparently, he forgot his son was in the backseat. So sad. My aunt forgot her baby once but she remembered rather fast so no harm.
They are all in my prayers.
