Why did you get this book?

Got the audio as a gift.

Was the author new to you?

No.

Would you read something by this author again?

Yes.

Are you keeping it or passing it on?

Keeping.

What did you think of the book?

This book was awesome. I can’t believe all that is happening. I still see Harry, Hermione and Ron as 11 year olds but they aren’t and I’m dying to read the next book. I like how this series has gone from feeling like a simple story to being so involved and darker. You have to know it will become dark because of the premise of the story. I really love this telling of the classic good vs. evil.

Okay I loved the beginning of this book just because Fudge has to speak to the “Muggle” Prime Minister which takes everything in stride. I find it hilarious that he remembers Fudge coming to him with tons of bad news… Sirius escaped… Voldemort… and now that Sirius is dead and was innocent and Voldemort is alive and they should all be worried.

You know I’ve never mentioned it in the other reviews of the Harry Potter books but I rather love Mr. and Mrs. Weasley. They are good people who obviously adore each other and have taken to Harry as if he is their own. I half expect Mrs. Weasley’s clock to get another hand that says Harry on it. I really love the Molly Wobbles part. I laughed so hard.

Fleur and Bill? Okay, I didn’t see that one coming! I loved that they called her Flem or Phlem. Thought is was funny.

Neville’s toad, Trevor, is always trying to escape and you half expect him to be like Scabber’s and not actually be a toad.

Okay so I was floored when Dumbledore died. I honestly thought it was a ploy or some sort because Dumbledore had been telling Draco they could fake his death but then we see that his portrait is up in the Headmaster’s office. Totally floored. I really didn’t expect that.

I think SNAPE IS EVIL! I’ve suspected two scenarios.

1. He’s evil and only pretending to be good. He has convinced Dumbledore so well because of the oculomancy or simply because Dumbledore WANTS to believe him. He does seem a trifle too trusting.

2. Snape was backed into a corner with Dumbledore and the old wizard, knowing he would die anyway, gave Snape a clue to just kill him to keep his cover from being blown. There is also speculation that Snape was in love with Lily Potter so would never truly want Harry dead but still dislikes him because of James. Whatever.

I personally think Snape is bad. I could be wrong but I don’t think so.

Also, I’ve heard people think Harry could be a Horcrux for Voldemort. I think this unlikely simply because Voldemort couldn’t possess him in the previous book (was that the previous book). Also, I think he has to use things that don’t already have a soul possessing it.

I knew I'd get a response out of you! LOL I know how fond you are of Snape... sadly we differ on this issue. But that is why were are unique. I respect that you like him. I just don't. Oh well.
