It just keeps raining

It has been raining for a week now. Our creeks are filled and rushing over roads. Not supposed to stop raining until Friday. Scary part is the 20-40mph winds with gusts up to 60mph. This is too much winter.

Man, that is rural living right? I hate when the power goes out. But it happens, right? I'm just glad for you that it wasn't out for too long.

Definitely! It happens quite regularly here. In January, 1998, we had a terrible ice storm and the power was off for 3-5 days around northern NH. Southern Quebec was hit very hard, too. Once life was back to normal, we bought a BIG generator and it has been a Godsend.

We have power failures year 'round because there are so many trees and the winds are so strong. It blows branches and entire trees down on the line.

Generators are amazing. We haven't needed one where we are but you go 15 minutes above us and you do.

We typically have power failures during the winter. It is rare in the warmer months. I couldn't imagine losing power that much. Life would be so much simpler if solar was easier to achieve, no?
