Thankful Day 15: Gourdy Decorations
I'm thankful for pumpkins and anything that is flavored pumpkin because I enjoy it so much. Pumpkin bread, pumpkin coffees, pumpkin pasta, but just using pumpkins and other gourds for decoration is also something I enjoy. I have these wicker pumpkins sitting around which I love putting out. Plus there are all the whole pumpkins sitting around outside though I think one might have taken a hit last night when the cats knocked it over the railing.

My aunt tends to give us gourds every year. They tend to sit in a bowl and I never know what to do with them. And then I started seeing all these things you can do with them online. Granted putting them in a large vase is simple but they look nice. But when I saw the vases made out of gourds or pumpkins... how exciting. I mean I'm not entirely sure why I'm surprised considering you can cut shapes and make a glowing pumpking but this is just as good.

I haven't done this but I really want to. Carve out the inside of the pumpkin or gourd and insert shot glass to make a vase. So easy... well as easy as carving a pumpkin. But my favorite is:

You can find the directions HERE.

These pumpkins are so beautiful. The carver of these cut into the bottom rather than the top and after emptying out the inside used a drill to make the designs which is just brilliant... and so much easier than trying to carve such a design.

Seriously, the pumpkins are my favorite part of this time of year.

What are you grateful for today?
