Thankful Day 12: Pilgrim Cupcakes
Sadly, I'm a little tired of seeing and hearing about the reaction to the election. People rioting? Really? So right now I'm thankful for a day off work and from hearing all the craziness. And I think that means we deserve a treat. So here are some very easy and adorbale pilgrim cupcakes.

Needed

  • Cupcakes in brown cupcake liners. The original recipe calls for vanilla cupcakes but you could probably do any type of cake you want.

  • White icing

  • Cocoa powder

  • Chocolate for melting

  • Large Marshmallows

  • Chocolate coated cookies

  • Wilton Sparkle Gel - white, yellow, and black

  • Large round Wilton tip with a piping bag and tape.

  • Toothpicks (or any other kind of pick or narrow skewer)

Make It

  1. Make the hat. Melt the chocolate in the microwave and using toothpick coat each marshmallow.

  2. Place it on top of the cookie and then place them in the refrigerator to set.

  3. Once set gently remove the pick. Using the sparkle gel add on a white band and yellow buckle, then set aside.

  4. Mix a small amount of cocoa at a time with plain white icing until you get a color you are happy with.

  5. Place the tip inside the bag (cut off the end of the bag) and tape the bag onto the tip.

  6. Fill the bag with icing and holding your hand very steady and keeping the tip just above the top of the cupcake pipe a face onto each cupcake.

  7. If you push down just a little while piping you will see that the icing fills out so it covers more of the top of the cupcake.

  8. Place the hat on top of the icing and using the black sparkle gel add facial features.

  9. Voila you have a pilgrim cupcake.

What are you thankful for today?

I ADORE this one. I'm all for making adorable desserts. Like spider cupcakes at Halloween or snowman melting cookies at Christmas. I love seeing them and making them. They are so fun.

Me too. I rarely get the chance to make them though.
Might have to see if I can find a fun idea for christmas.

I do too. Usually at the end of the year with so many holidays I pick the ones I get to do. I didn't do anything for Halloween this year.
