Thankful Day 1: Rain
For the past several years, I committed myself to doing a 25 Days of Christmas Meme which is essentially nostalgia, likes, recipes, crafts and gift ideas for Christmas. I've got it planned this year too. But some reason I'm feeling really into the holidays this year and thought I'd start off with a similar idea of this as the Thankful things meme which is going to be a combination of things I'm thankful for, food, goodies and crafts. It will go through to the 24th which is the US's Thanksgiving celebration (I know my Canadian friends already celebrated). I can't say I've made all of these things but some of them definitely and other are just great ideas I've found which I wanted to share. To start off it is going to be something I'm currently thankful for.

Some of you might recall California has been having a drought the last couple of years. Well, I can't say it is over but typically we doing get rain until January but we've had several weeks where half of the days are rainy. One day will just be a torrential downpour while the other wet days are more drizzly. And it seems to be a pattern. Every week looking at the weather apps says we will have a few sunny days and then we are back in it for wet weather. Now matter the pattern or the likelihood it will continue through our winter, we are grateful for the water. Our trees, farms, orchards, and vineyards need it.

So I'm also wondering if there is something you are particularly grateful for today?

I've always liked rain to a certain extent. I mean I don't like when it ruins my fun going to Disneyland or some other fun place but I like it for the everyday. I adore the sound of it on the roof at night and I love the smell of everything when it has rained.

I would be too. Sometimes I wish we had the public transportation that cities have because being rural means there is no way to get anywhere without some from of transport and we do have a bus system but it isn't great.
