My mother heard this morning on the news that Heath had had an pneumonia and was home recovering. They believe he couldn't sleep so took some sleeping pills which didn't mix with his meds. That is what the news said so I'm leaning towards believing it. A senseless accident. *sniffles*

RIP Heath... you'll be missed.

I so rarely if ever tell people when I've read a fic that MUST be passed on, but I have to say this one is a MUST for Gerard Butler fans. In particular, those fans who fell in love with him as "The Stranger" in Dear Frankie. I'm serious [info]koalathebearhas mastered the feel of the movie and made an extra bit worthy of being an extended ending! READ IT!

NIM'S ISLAND
Gerard Butler (300) will star opposite Jodie Foster and Abigail Breslin in Fox Walden adventure NIM'S ISLAND, based on Wendy Orr's children's novel of the same name. Husband-wife directing team Jennifer Flackett and Mark Levin are set to begin filming in late July in Australia from their adapted screenplay. The studio is planning an April 25, 2008 release. The storyline revolves around a girl who lives on a tropical isle with her father, a scientist whose boat runs into trouble one day, leaving the girl to fend for herself on the island. She begins emailing the author of the book she is reading, and with the author's help, is able to manage. The trio ultimately unites to save the island from careless tour companies. Butler will next be seen starring opposite Hilary Swank in dramedy P.S. I LOVE YOU on December 21. After NIM'S ISLAND, Butler is set to star in Lakeshore Entertainment's futuristic thriller GAME, which begins shooting in January.

GAME
Variety reports that Lakeshore Entertainment will reunite with Crank creators Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor on GAME, a high-concept futuristic thriller starring Gerard Butler (300). The pair will also direct the movie, which is set to start filming next January. The film is set in a dystopian future of implanted nano- devices, where the ultimate online simulation environment is humans remote-controlling other humans in mass-scale, multiplayer online gaming. The lead character, played by Butler, is a worldwide sensation and the top-ranked warrior in a game called Slayers. With his every move tracked by millions, he battles to regain his identity and bring down the entire system.
